Acacia 120 Review
If you’ve never heard of acacia rigidula, it’s okay. Some 99.99999% of dieters never have, because acacia is only a big deal in the minds of Trimscience, makers of Acacia 120. While most products rely on ingredients like green tea or African mango, Acacia 120 brags about clinical studies on acacia rigidula, and acacia’s supposedly proven ability to increase fat burning, reduce appetite, improve body composition, and reduce waist circumference.
Benefits of Acacia?
Acacia is the only recorded ingredient in Acacia 120. So all of the possible benefits or complete failure of Acacia 120 hinges on this one ingredient. If you read about natural amphetamines (and acacia rigidula is a natural amphetamine), hope seems to be on the horizon. Like prescription amphetamines (Phentermine, Bontril, etc.), natural amphetamines might increase energy, improve mental function, and dare we say it, suppress appetite to help you to lose more weight.
However, these are all speculations. The research on acacia rigidula as an individual ingredient does not show quite the same effects.
What Do Studies Say?
So far, we have not seen a single study confirming the idea that acacia rigidula is a weight loss supplement. In fact, every study we have seen so far releases numbers that are virtually identical. In other words, if the placebo group loses 5 pounds in 12 weeks, then the acacia group probably lost an average of 4 to 6 pounds depending on the study.
Researchers at the head of one study specify that there was no measurable difference between the test and placebo group. This particular study was completed at the Functional Medicine Research Center over a 12 week period of time. A second study, which tested acacia in combination with the Mediterranean diet also showed that while subjects (in both groups) lost weight because of the Mediterranean diet, there was still no measurable difference between the test and placebo group.
What Can You Expect From Acacia 120?
Acacia 120 uses one total ingredient that is similar to substances that might help you to lose weight, but acacia seems to be the odd man out. While cousins like Phentermine wow the weight loss world, researchers have yet to release even one study showing any measurable differences between acacia and a placebo.
We could plausibly see Acacia 120 lifting mood and enhancing mental outlook. We have seen caffeine supplements (that are nowhere near being natural amphetamines) that have that particular effect. However, as exciting as it may sound, we do not believe that Acacia 120’s benefits extend to the wide world of weight loss.
