When I first heard about HCG Solution from a friend, I was a little amazed what she was doing to herself. Although she was losing weight quickly, she was also cutting back calories to a mere 500 a day and exercising almost excessively.
“Haven’t you heard? HCG’s the latest thing,” she told me. “HCG Solution was pretty cheap so I thought I’d give it a try. It’s working so far, I think.”
Despite the fact that HCG products such as HCG Solution are growing quickly in popularity due to TV advertisements and lose-weight-fast scams, I couldn’t help but wonder what my friend saw in HCG Solution. Had she fallen for another dieting trap? Or was there something to HCG Solution that I didn’t know?
I decided to do a little research to find out.
HCG for Weight Loss
HCG Solution lures customers in with references to TV advertisements and commercials, and even boldly saying that the almost every expert will tell you exactly what I’m telling you now: that the HCG diet is the result of the reduced calories mixed with the placebo effect.
Then, once you’re hooked on their line of thinking, they pull you in to an inner circle of friendship, making the following claim: “Yet the fact remains that tens of thousands of men and women swear by it… just ask your friends.”
It seems pretty convincing to be sure.
However, I never did like homeopathic procedures and the idea of a few drops of amino acids mixed with water for weight loss seemed almost too ridiculous to be true. Manufacturers are willing to say almost anything to make a product, so it’s better to get the facts from an expert than your so-called “friends.”
So here’s the scoop about HCG and how it works:
Supposedly the HCG hormone will suppress hunger and trigger the release of fat to be burned as fuel. By cutting your calories to a mere 500 a day, will will supposedly fix your metabolism and lose several pounds a day.
Unfortunately, the scientific evidence is severely lacking. Although many HCG products reference a paper written by Albert T.W. Simeon claiming that pregnant women on a calorie deficit diet lost fat when treated with a low-dose of HCG, an official study on the observation was never conducted.
And, according to a study published in The British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, researchers observed that HCG showed no benefit in promoting weight loss.
The FDA even makes repeated warnings against companies that sell over-the-counter HCG products labeled as “homeopathic” for weight loss, warning them against making unsupported claims for the products.
“These HCG products marketed over-the-counter are unproven to help with weight loss and are potentially dangerous even if taken as directed,” said Ilisa Bernstein, director of the Office of Compliance in FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. “And a very low-calorie diet should only be used under proper medical supervision.”
However, NiGen BioTech’s HCG Solution does not contain the hormone HCG at all – despite it’s name. Instead, it offers amino acids to supposedly create the same effect (HCG is composed of 244 amino acids) – so does this make it any better?
NiGen BioTech The HCG Solution Ingredients
NiGen BioTech The HCG Solution ingredients include L-prohne, L-cysteine, L-arginine, L-valine, L-serine, L-threonine, L-leucine, L-glutamine, L-lysine, L-aspartic acid, L-glutamic acid, L-alanine, L-tyrosine, L-phenylalanine, L-asparqine, L-glycine, L-isoleucine, L-histoine, and L-methionine.
Though these amino acids are helpful in maintaining a healthy body, and some may even help to stimulate protein synthesis, they’re in ridiculously low concentrations. NiGen BioTech The HCG Solution does not have even 1mg of anything. Instead, it measures all of its liquid ingredients in “nanograms”, which is a fancy way of saying that NiGen BioTech The HCG Solution does not have any active ingredients at all.
This “homeopathic” treatment is so watered down that you’re basically paying $40 bucks for a 1 oz bottle of water. Not exactly what you though you were paying for, was it?
The Low-Calorie Diet
This is where the HCG Solution really gets off being a weight loss product. Though manufacturers would have you believe that HCG Solution is the reason that you can cut your calories down so low without feeling hungry, a good majority of the weight you lose will be a result of how far you can push your limits.
The diet pill includes 2 phases, the first only lasting for 1-2 days.
Phase 1: The Gorging Phase involves eating as much food as you like. From fatty cheeseburgers to high-calorie ice cream to fried bacon, whatever you want, it’s yours. I suppose this is to compensate for the next 40 days of misery that are about to follow.
Phase 2:Very Low Calorie Diet: involves a 500 calorie per day maximum, and though it encourages drinking green tea (a healthy fat burner) and eating a good amount of protein, fruits, and vegetables – it’s not enough to get the basic nutrients you need to function properly.
Manufacturers try to pass “Dr. Simeon’s Text” off as an official document, quoting long passages out of his paper – but it’s not as official as it looks.
You can buy a 1 oz. bottle of HCG Solution for $39.99 from Myhcgsolution.com, but if you’re still going to try it after all the studies proving how bad this method is for you, then I’d suggest shopping around online to find a better deal. Amazon.com, for example, sells it for $23.49 a bottle, but I’d have to say that it’s still not worth the investment.
Fortunately there’s the fact that HCG Solution is backed with a guarantee, “because no product or program will work for everyone.” If you don’t like your results, you can return it within 30 days for a full refund. If you have any additional question about returns you can call customer support at 800-414-4220.
NiGen BioTech The HCG Solution relies on the HCG hype to sell a product that may not cause the problems associated with HCG – but I can still guarantee that it will not help anybody to lose weight on its own.
The best thing I can say about this product is that it probably won’t cause any side effects. Most of these hyped up products do. But realistically, it goes without saying that there are better options.
