A prescription weight loss supplement, Orlistat is meant to block fat and give you certain other results in general. They claim that Orlistat will finally help you to achieve better results in terms of real weight loss, and apparently, it can help you to effectively speaking achieve 50% more weight loss than diet and exercise alone.

They talk about Orlistat finally giving you a revolution never before seen in any industry. But the question is, does it actually work? Does Orlistat actually come through?

Orlistat Ingredients

Orlistat is the ingredient found in Xenical and Alli, prescription and over the counter, and it is the industry’s first over the counter product to be FDA approved. It works by blocking fat from your dietary intake, meaning that you will not actually absorb it. However, most study subjects lost 5-10% of their body weight in a year, not necessarily in fat. These are amounts that healthy diet and exercise should be ridding you of in about a month.

Orlistat Side Effects

This being said, Orlistat has been connected to various side effects such as increase in oily or loose stool, frequent or urgent bowel movements, gas, orange spots, and extreme diarrhea that can come at any time. What they don’t mention is the fact that this requires a no fat diet to avoid those side effects, and this includes good fats. Unfortunately, your body actually needs good fatty acids to promote real weight loss, and obviously this doesn’t work out.

Orlistat – Conclusion

We would not recommend using Orlistat to promote real or substantial weight loss results. It does not help you to achieve any greater benefits, and when it comes right down to it, there are various other reasons not to bother with Orlistat. This being said, we would definitely recommend that you use something else.
